6 Ways to Stick to Your Weight Loss Workout

Weight loss will be yours this year! Provided you don't drop out of your fat loss program, of course. So what can you do to keep your motivation to exercise and workout and stick to your nutrition program, rather than dropping out like last year?

Let us help you. Here are some tips that will keep your motivation and commitment high longer than ever before.

And don't think I'm singling you out. About 50% of people (seems like more!) fail at their exercise resolutions.

1) Our first tip? Don't get too sore!

Don't overdo it the first week back. Stick to just one set per exercise, and don't try running 6 days per week for 30 minutes. That will just give you shin splints. Instead, just focus on being consistent and moderate in the gym, and focus on your nutrition changes instead. Your nutrition is where you will see the biggest impact immediately anyways.

2) Avoid intimidating training environments.

You don't like gyms? Exercise at home. You can do a lot with your bodyweight only. Add a set of adjustable dumbbells and you have your own gym at home. You don't need fancy machines, you just need the ability to train consistently. There are dozens of exercises you can do at home. Plus, you'll save a lot of time.

3) Cut your workout time in half.

You don't need to train for 90 minutes per day. You don't even need an hour. You can get a lot of work done in 20 minutes. If you workout at home, you've also cut the drive time down. So what are you waiting for? Clear 20 minutes from your schedule and be consistent.

4) Don't get bored.

Change your workout every 4 weeks.

5) Avoid the dreaded plateau.

First of all, are you properly recording these three things?

a) Your body composition

b) Your food intake

c) Your training

If not, then how do you know if you are progressing or if you are really being consistent?

6) Workout with a partner.

Not only will it give you a reason not to cancel, but you will also have more motivation and an even greater chance of succeeding.

Here's why: In one study, researchers found that subjects that brought a workout partner also lost more weight if the workout partner successfully lost weight.

Feed off each other's motivation and success and this will be the year you stick to your resolutions.

Fat And Weight Loss Through Getting Rid Of Parasites

Fat And Weight Loss. Why Has It Not Worked?

To lose fat and weight, many of us would have tried our utmost and yet we would not have achieved the desired results. It certainly may not be for want of trying. Often, we try too hard. At times we get the results but it does not last long. We cannot seem to keep off the fat in the long term. If the usual recommendations including exercise, pills, special diet, lotions and so on have not worked for us, perhaps we need to take a totally different approach. It may be appropriate for us to find out what caused the fat in the first place. Could it be due to something in our system that is making it difficult for us to shed off the unwanted fat? Could it be due to some harmful plaque or bacteria in our stomach, intestines and colon that act as parasites that is causing the problem? The Japanese have specially formulated drinks that contain healthy bacteria which have been reported to help our digestive system. Going by the popularity of such drinks, there must be some value in it. The only Japanese to keep away from it would be Sumo wrestlers as they thrive on being fat!

What Harm Can Parasites Do?

How do these parasites get into our bodies? The answer probably lies in the food and water that we consume. It could be due to poorly cooked food and food cooked under unhygienic conditions. Raw or poorly cooked fish especially pickled salmon, trout, white fish etc., contain larvae which after 5-6 weeks mature into adult worms. The worms can lay thousands of eggs and produce chemicals as well as toxins that can even affect our brains particularly the hypothalamus. This is the gland that controls our hunger and thirst. It has been stated that parasites prevent the body from absorbing nutrients from the food we consume. What is even more serious is that these parasites can cause damage even after they die. When they die, they become mineralized like a fossil causing painful swelling and blockages within our body. This has harmful effects particularly on our digestive system and colon. Clogged bowels make it difficult for us to excrete our wastes. As a result, there is plaque build-up which provides fertile conditions for the growth of parasites.

How Do We Get Rid Of The Parasites?

For those of us who have tried everything else but have not succeeded thus far, perhaps we should consider whether parasites are the root cause of our fat and weight problem. Apart from herbal capsules, there are also drugs, health drinks and other remedies which could help to get rid of the parasites. Apple cider vinegar which has been hailed as a natural remedy for a number of ailments may also prove helpful. Before you decide on what is best for you, it would be beneficial if you could get the full details on the parasites that are behind the problem of excess fat and weight that many of us are battling with daily.

In this regard, you may find this site useful.

Getting rid of parasites in the system could be the answer for those who have tried everything else to lose excess fat and weight but failed. How can you get rid of parasites and finally be able to shed the unwanted fat and weight? Learn more here!

Weight Loss Motivation - 10 Tips for Sustainability

Weight loss motivation is the bane of all dieter's lives. It comes and goes like the wind. For many of us, keeping hold of it is like trying to control the elements themselves - impossible. That is until you realise that a dieting mindset is the route cause of your loss of motivation!

You may also be hooked into the belief that somewhere there is a 'quick fix' that will see you shed your excess pounds quickly and easily. Worse still you may even believe that it is your fault when the diets don't work. Therefore to create a successful change that leads to healthy eating habits we need to update our mindset to one that motivates.

Think about it for a moment. What is it that a dieting mindset generates the most of? Negativity - a constant focus on food that is labelled by us as 'bad'; the feeling of failure when our motivation and will power wane; the emotions of guilt, shame and self-loathing and of course the constant nagging feeling that we are 'Not Good Enough'. Negativity cannot sustain motivation in the long-term, only positive attitudes and beliefs can do that.

So let me ask you a question, "When did you ever buy a product or service (except for a diet related one) and blame yourself when it did not work?" That's what we have been doing for decades. It really is time to focus on the truth (from over 3 decades of research) that prove diets don't work, for most people, as a long-term solution to weight issues.

The truth is that diets are the cause of much of our weight gain (dieters are 3 times more likely to become obese) and our loss of motivation. Not convinced? Since when did negative thoughts or feelings ever motivate us to do anything? How can we possibly feel motivated in the long-term when we believe it is our fault we can't lose weight and that we are just 'Not Good Enough'?

The answer is you can't sustain motivation based on the foundations of negative belief systems, thoughts and feelings. So where does our motivation truly come from? The reality is that it comes from life and mindset changes that have their basis in the one thing that keeps us happy, joyful and motivated - self-love.

So what are the ten top tips for changing your mindset to one that motivates us to lose weight permanently?

1. Believe that you are perfectly normal and not a failure;

2. Banish guilt and shame from your life - they only lead to more comfort eating;

3. Slowly start to find ways of loving your body image as it is - you can still love it but want to change it. This way when you lose weight you will keep on loving your body and feeding it with the fuel it really needs.

4. Acknowledge that food restricting brings with it craving, binging and overeating - make all food good whilst considering the frequency with which you eat them;

5. Learn the habits with food that people who have never needed to diet use - how to replace comfort eating with comfort loving;

6. Start to eat 'consciously' in touch with your satiety levels and how foods make you feel physically and emotionally;

7. Train yourself to eat smaller portions of more healthily balanced foods - cut down not out;

8. Tell yourself that all food is good and then carefully think about what you really want to eat that is loving and caring for your body;

9. Increase the 'happiness hormones' in your body by taking regular exercise that is fun and enjoyable - you will never stick at it otherwise.

10. Exchange the battle with life and food with a search for loving experiences and actions that 'Feed Your Soul'. The more you fill yourself with love, the less stressed you are and the less you need food as a comforter.

It really is possible to lose weight permanently and find the weight you were born to be when you change a predominantly negative mindset for a positive one. How do I know? Well, I personally have lost over 5 stone and kept it off for several years.

Why Massage Education is Deteriorating

Just by studying the surveys and reading the comments and feedback from massage therapy trainees and patients alike, you cannot help but deduce that the quality of massage education in many, if not all, areas is fast deteriorating. One online poll showed that only less than 30 percent of the survey participants thought they underwent good, reliable and effective training in their respective massage schools. Another survey showed that more than 50 percent of the total number of participants believed that their instructors fed them with more textbook knowledge rather than practical, actual techniques. A patient in Chicago, USA has complained that during her most recent massage session, the therapist rubbed a lot of oil on her body, pinched, poked and kneaded areas of her body so hard that she was left sore all over. The experience was too traumatic for her that she has already sworn off massage therapy. Such negative comments do not at all help the profession, which is supposed to have an important effect on a persons emotional, spiritual and physiological state and functions.

Experts believe that the deterioration of massage education is due to a lot of factors. For one, there are a lot of shady massage therapy schools that do not have the proper certifications. In the USA, for instance, it is highly recommended that a certain massage school has accreditation from the National Certification Exam for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCETMB). Secondly, there are also schools that do not have enough competent teachers, most probably because they want to save on costs, or hire many teachers but only at a low rate (and an instructor who somehow knows a little about massage is already considered good enough).

Thirdly, most incompetent schools only offer textbook knowledge and not many hands-on, on-patient methods and skills. Of course, hands-on training is more important since it will prepare the student cum would-be therapist on what to expect in real life situations. Fourthly, there are instructors out there who either do not have enough experience or are not exactly successful in their own private practices who try and teach the art of massage to others. Remember, massage requires a high level of expertise as well as a good understanding of the challenges involved and people who have failed or are not practiced enough may only convey limited knowledge.

The weakening of massage education is not only bad news for accredited massage therapy schools which try very hard to follow rules and accreditation requirements and give quality education and training but also for patients who now do not have the total guarantee that their therapists have been trained the proper way and have the right qualifications. Something should be done to address this problem, if only to protect the true essence of massage and its benefits.

Custom Weight Loss Formulas

With this New Year comes many resolutions, the most popular being weight loss. As with all good intentions, resolutions are most successful when a person has a plan to help support the effort. Whether you are trying to lose 20 lbs or 100 lbs it is important to create a plan for success. Part of your plan should include the nutrients your body needs in order to function at its peak. Since so many millions of people today are taking prescription medications for health concerns, it is often confusing when attempting to choose the best support formula for weight loss. Don't be fooled by the ads that claim that "anyone" can take this formula or that formula. That simply is not true. If you are currently taking medication for High blood pressure, cardiac concerns, diabetes, kidney, thyroid, stress, pain, or any other health issue, it is wise to avoid certain supplements and herbs. It is impossible to list all of the supplements that one should avoid since each body has an individual bio-chemistry and unique needs. Please do not just walk into a drug store, health food store, or your local grocer and choose a formula off the shelf. It would be much wiser for you to know that the supplements you are taking coincide with all medications your doctor has prescribed. If you'd like more information on how you can obtain a custom formula that is made specifically for you and your health concerns, call my office.

For over 23 yrs I have helped people achieve their health goals including weight loss. Weight loss is not just an issue of the body, it is connected closely to your mental and emotional states. Here are some important elements to help you succeed:

Make movement part of every idle moment. When you are on "hold" waiting for someone to come back to a phone conversation just stand up, or move your feet, your legs, your hands, or your arms until the conversation continues. If you are sitting down to finish your conversation, rotate your wrists and ankles. Squeeze your leg muscles for a few seconds and release. Just think MOVE whenever you have idle time. Park your car a longer distance from the grocery store than your norm. Each extra step you take equates to burned calories...so the more you move, the more calories you burn. Be sure to include weight-bearing exercises as part of your health routine. The dense muscles of your body will actually continue burning calories after your work out has finished, which is contrary to aerobic exercise. It is important that you use weights three times per week. Talk to your doctor to find out what you are allowed to do. If you do not get any guidelines for restriction, speak with an exercise coach, a physical therapist, or even the physical education instructor at a local high school or college if you can. Find out what is allowed for your age and condition.

Eat foods that are filled with fiber. You will find that raw fruits and vegetables, and slightly steam veggies are generally rich in fibers and packed with nutrients. Limit the amount of animal foods that you consume. Certainly cut out empty calorie junk foods such as pies, cakes, ice creams, donuts, soda, alcohol, sugar, and white flour foods. Whatever you put in your mouth should be as valuable as possible. Eat nutrient dense foods, foods that are closer to nature. If you wish to dip your raw veggies try non-fat or low fat dressings.

Be sure to eat three main meals and two snacks daily. This will actually help to keep your metabolism active. It will prevent you from having a craving because it will allow more stable blood sugar throughout your day. If a person were to cut back on calories and skip meals it would trick the mind and the metabolism into thinking that it needed to hold onto weight and/or water in order to survive. This is our body's natural survival instinct.

Drink purified water throughout the day. Do not drink soda or alcohol.
Cut down on the amount of salt you take in daily
Find hobbies that will occupy your time.
Taking digestive enzymes with your meals may help. Check to see if you are compatible with papaya tablets, bromelain, and probiotics.
Include more dark leafy greens if your condition allows. Dark leafy green vegetables have more iron which in turn will hold more oxygen in the cells. If you are not allowed to take extra iron you might want to avoid extra dark leafy greens and other iron-rich foods like raisins and liver.
Use non-salt flavorings such as dried herbs to add pep to your dishes.
Get used to chewing your food for thirty seconds before swallowing. Carbohydrate metabolism begins in the mouth.
Find activities that interest you. Often eating too much has its roots in boredom, if it is not due to metabolism issues. Fill your life with new activities to change your focus. Changing your focus is paramount to the success of any weight loss program.

If you need to "chew" something, use sugarless gum in a pinch.
When you find yourself craving a food that you smell or see start saying the following immediately: "No food tastes as good as thin feels!"
Wear a small alarm, or use your phone alarm. Set the alarm to go off once each half hour when you first start your lifestyle change. When the alarm goes off, repeat your favorite positive affirmation. Along with the affirmation drink some purified water - add a little lemon juice if you can tolerate it, or slice of orange, or strawberry. Warm green tea may be good if your doctor allows.
If you are someone who was used to having an alcoholic beverage more than once or twice a week, try the following: Ice water with an olive. Ice Tea with a lemon wedge. Tonic Water with an olive or other fresh fruit slice. Sip slowly and repeat your positive affirmation mentally. A small amount of wine may be permissible. Again, ask your physician.
Adding some invisible fiber to your foods may also help to curb your appetite. You will find invisible fiber in most all grocery stores and drug stores. Follow the directions on the label. When we eat foods rich in fiber we naturally eat less because we feel fuller faster.
Practice deep breathing exercises to avoid stress periods during your day. Close your eyes, breathe in deeply and hold it for three seconds. Exhale. Repeat three to five times. As you breathe correctly from the diaphragm you will feel invigorated and get a mental lift as well.
Get a good pair of walking shoes and USE them. When the weather permits walk out of doors. If not, walk in place while you watch your favorite program. You will surprised how fast the time goes by. If you can't walk for thirty minutes consecutively, start out with five minutes at a time. Before you know it you will be walking ten then twenty and eventually you should be able to easily walk for thirty minutes. You can try to sing or repeat the alphabet or talk with your family or a friend while you walk. You should be able to hold a conversation as you walk - if not, you might be walking too quickly. Pace yourself and make it fun!
Get some good work-out music. When we hear energizing music our heart rate increases and our bodies are filled with a sense of power.
Some people do best if they can check in with a coach. Ask for referrals in your area. Do what it takes to stay motivated. Remember that each day away from an old habit is one day closer to SUCCESS!

Fasting & Exercise To Control Your Weight

Fasting and Exercise have been a simple way for me to keep my weight in control. I am 5 3 and I keep my weight around 110 lbs. I am healthy and strong at age 67.

The program:

You choose when you want to fast

1. Once a week or

2. When you have over eaten and feel stuffed.

3. When you dont like how you feel or look.

4. When you are planning on eating out and want to be able to eat and enjoy without feeling guilty.

How do you fast?

Go without breakfast and lunch try to go from dinner to dinner a 24 hours period. If you do this regularly you shouldnt have to fast more than one day at a time. I have fasted for 3 days and the most a 5-day fast but that was only when I felt I was desperate and sometimes for health cleanses. Normally I fast only one day a week or when ever I feel I need to fast. Mostly I fast just once a month for one day.

Be Careful: When you break your fast dont start making up for all of the food you didnt eat by eating more than normal and making the fast a waste.

To help you fast:

1. Drink lots of water whenever you are hungry
2. Get use to the feeling of being hungry you can get to live with it and even like it because you are in control.
3. Dont get carried away with fasting. Do it in moderation and with reason. It is not necessary to have long fasts.
4. Have the right attitude. Feel excited about how you will feel when you get to where you want to be. Dont think of fasting as denying yourself but rather being good to you.

What are the benefits of fasting along with exercise?
1. You do feel free from the control food can have on you.
2. Your mind feels clear, you think better.
3. You like yourself better.
4. You stomach shrinks so youre not as hungry after fasting.
5. Fasting takes away your craving.
6. You loose weight!
7. You look good!

Exercise:

My exercise has been running two miles every second day (about 1/2 hour) and on the other days do about 10 to 15 minutes of weight training with 5lb weights and stretching exercises.

1. Choose whatever exercise you enjoy.
2. Try to do it first thing in the morning.
3. Do it regularly at least 3-4 times a day for at least hour.
5. If you can try to do some kind of exercise each day.
6. Dont let weather stop you. If its raining, exercise in the house or wherever you are. Create an exercise program that allows you to do some kind of exercise no matter what your circumstances are.
7. Exercise until you can feel it. Get your heart rate up and perspire.

Of course, controlling your food intake is important but with this program I seem not to get out of control with my eating. I eat normally and very seldom over indulge. It seems this program helps me be in control and not to have any food addictions.

I am 67 years old and have been able to keep my weight in control with this program. It is simple. It allows you to stop weight gain before it gets a hold of you. As with all weight and exercise programs they must be done with wisdom and approval from your Doctor.

4 Sure-Fire Tips For Effective Weight Loss

Are you just plain fed up because you haven't lost weight for a long time now on that latest fad diet, well please stop! Don't even think about trying another diet, because it will only produce the same results as you have already seen before.

Have a look at the four sure fire tips found below that are based on "Scientific Principles" that have always been around, but are not followed by the majority of weight loss programs you see these days.

So lets have a look:

1. Increasing Your Metabolism

In order to produce Sustained, Permanent and Long-Term Weight Loss, it's imperative that you boost your metabolism. And the most effective way to raise your metabolism is to have a greater proportion of functional muscle on your body.

The only way to build this lean muscle so you can raise your metabolism is through "Strength Training". There's no other method that works wonders on the Metabolism like Strength Training.

By performing Strength Training, you'll effectively increase the amount of functional lean muscle on your body so that your metabolism will elevate.

After a Strength Training session your body will undergo a significant increase or "Spike" in Metabolism, which will allow you to burn much more fat then you were able to before.

2. It's All About Lean Muscle

"The amount of fat the body can burn is directly related to the more lean muscle your body can hold."

If your muscle system can sustain more energy and use this energy significantly when performing strength training, then it will be able to burn off the calories you eat and the excess fat on your body.

In other words, if your muscles become stronger and can hold more energy then you should be able to release this energy more efficiently to increase your metabolism, and to burn off excess calories that you have eaten.

Once we can build more lean muscle through our own strength, then our bodies will become more efficient at burning fat.

It's also the amount of lean muscle on your body that makes you look good Once you burn off the excess fat from your body, the lean muscle underneath your skin will be exposed making you look healthy, energetic, and well toned.

3. Decrease Your Daily Calories

For years now, we have been told to use dieting to rid the excess fat from our bodies.

The trouble with this concept is that the low calorie restricted diet would throw the body into starvation mode, with the body holding onto the fat and using precious muscle tissue for energy.

This would then lower the metabolism causing greater muscle loss and when the diet is broken the unwanted fat would not only return but actually increase because to the lowered metabolism.

The way around this is to cut your daily calorie intake by a small amount of calories only. This will stop any starvation mechanisms from clicking in. You can do this by making up a seven day eating plan and writing down every thing you eat for the week, and then work out the calories you have eaten with a calorie counter. Divide this figure by seven and you have your daily calorie value.

Decrease daily calorie value by a couple of hundred calories per day and no more. This will generate slow weight loss and the majority will be fat loss only. The daily calories should be consumed during the day with small frequent meals.

4. Fast Walking Burns Fat

All you need to do now is incorporate "Fast Walking" into your weight loss program to hasten the burning of excess fat.

Not only is fast walking better much easier on the hips, but it also produces a greater percentage of fat loss as opposed to jogging or running.

Here are some of the benefits of Fast Walking.

Easy to Perform
Most Conventional
All Natural Body Movement
Doesn't Cause Injuries
Can Be Done Anywhere
The Best Minimal Effort Exercise for Fat Loss

"I can't stress enough how Fast Walking is necessary in every weight loss program."

Your next step? To take what you have just learned and apply them to your weight daily weight loss regime.

Do The Health Benefits Of Aerobic Exercise Live Up To The Hype? Learn The Truth!

For decades, possibly even centuries, the health benefits of aerobic exercise have been talked about as being nothing short of a miracle.

But as more and more research comes in, what are the results showing?

What I'm about to tell you might shock you, so strap yourself in and enjoy the ride.

What ARE The Health Benefits Of Aerobic Exercise?

I won't go into a complete list here, but some of the health benefits of aerobic exercise include the following:

  • 1) Losing Weight

  • 2) Increased Oxygen In Your Body

  • 3) A Stronger Heart

  • 4) Decreased Blood Pressure

  • 5) Stronger Bones

  • 6) You'll Live Longer

  • 7) Various Cardiovascular Benefits

  • 8) Increased Energy

I only listed a few as I'm sure you know what the rest are.

But what if I told you there was something much better than aerobic exercise?

Guess what? That's exactly what I"m saying.

It's called anaerobic exercise and it gives the best results in the form of something called high intensity interval training.

You see, when you perform high intensity interval training, it stresses your body and shocks your muscles - but in a good way.

As compared to aerobic exercise, anaerobic exercise prepares your body to continue working without the presence of oxygen.

This makes it work much much harder, but the benefits are that much stronger.

If you look at the benefits I just mentioned, you can take them and in most cases double them to see what kind of benefits you'd be getting by working out doing high intensity interval training.

The beauty of doing high intensity interval training is that you get the health benefits of aerobic exercise as well as the anaerobic portion of it.

You get the anaerobic benefits when you're body has no oxygen, and you can get the aerobic benefits as you're catching your breath waiting to do your next interval.

It's literally like killing 2 birds with one stone!

I can say from experience that when I went from aerobic training (jogging) to anaerobic training (high intensity interval training), I experienced immediate results.

My heart rate dropped (it's now at the level of elite athletes) because my heart got stronger, my weight dropped 15 pounds (all the while keeping my muscle), and I've never been more energetic in my life.

And by now you might be thinking "oh well that sounds hard - I'm too out of shape for that!"

Well, of course you should ask your doctor first, but except for rare cases, you CAN perform high intensity interval training, even if you're out of shape.

You just start off at a lower intensity level, that's all.

Although the health benefits of aerobic exercise are incredible, if you start at least mixing in some interval training into your workout program you're going to see much better results in a shorter amount of time.

Jeremy Reeves realizes you probably have a lot of questions about high intensity interval training so he invites you to check out http://www.fitness-product-reviews.com

Alkaline Diet - How Does It Help?

Introduction

Alkaline Diet, also known as Alkaline Acid Diet, is a diet based on consumption of food such as fruits, vegetables, roots, nuts, and legumes but avoid dairy, meat, grains and salts. Recently, this diet has gained popularity among diet and nutrition specialists and authors. It is still in debate on the efficiency of alkaline diet because there is no concrete evidence that alkaline diet can reduce certain diseases.

As aforementioned, fruits, vegetables, roots, nuts, and legumes are part of alkaline diet. This is because these food released alkaline after being digested, absorbed, and metabolised. On the other hand, dairy, meat, grains and salts produce acid after the processes. Food is categorized as acid-producing or alkaline-producing based on their pH (power of Hydrogen) values, where pH 0 - 6 is acidic, pH 8 - 14 is alkaline and pH 7 is neutral (water). Hence, alkaline diet refers to the diet of having more of alkaline-producing food.

Alkaline Diet

Our blood has a pH between 7.35 and 7.45, which is slightly alkaline. Alkaline diet is based on this pH level of our blood and any diet that is high in acid-producing food will disorganise the balance. When the body tries to revitalize the equilibrium of pH in the blood, the acidity of the food will contribute to the loss of vital minerals such as potassium, magnesium, calcium, and sodium. The imbalance will make people susceptible to illness.

Unfortunately, Western diets are more acid-producing and they consume little fresh fruits and vegetables. Due to the advent of alkaline diet, the standard of Western diet has changed considerably.

Some diet and nutrition practitioners believe that acid-producing diet may cause some chronic illness and following symptoms such as:

~ headache

~ lethargic

~ frequent flu and cold, and excess mucous production

~ anxiety, nervousness

~ polycystic ovaries, ovarian cysts, benign breast cysts

Although some believe the above conditions are the result of acid-producing diet, and consumption of fruits and vegetables is beneficial to health, some doctors think that acid-producing diet does not cause chronic disease. Other than that, there are proofs shown that alkaline diets helps to prevent the formation of calcium kidney stones, osteoporosis, and age-related muscle wasting.

Balance diet

Although alkaline diet is preferred, it is not recommended to have extreme diet (eat all alkaline-producing food). It is healthier to strive for a balanced middle ground of both types of food. Just remember to take note of the pointers above and consult a practitioner/doctor before you want try a new diet.

Hey Fatty! Put Down That Donut!

I am sorry for my insult, but let me just get one thing straight. You are here reading this article, and you are concerned about your health and nutrition. I take off my hat to you already.

Most people don't even have the courage to look up, and research how to lose weight, or how to get rid of extra fat.

In fact you will probably read through half of this and say, wow this guy is an "asshole" Who makes fun of fat people to their face?

There is no reason for you to be fat. By being fat you are simply disrespecting yourself, and not being all you can be as a human. No I am not an army veteran, or anything like that. But come' ON! Its common sense.

The thing is, is that most people who are fat and overweight have other health issues, and most of them are mental.

- Low Self Esteem

- Low Self Confidence (everyday this gets lower and lower, the fatter you get)

- Depression

Look. I am not going to name the entire list, but being fat and overweight is just plain ignorance. You know that if you discipline yourself to eating healthier, and throwing in some exercise, you will probably feel a lot better.

You are probably saying well I have a life. "I work, I have kids, and I work...." Well we all work, and many of us have kids. Near the end of this article I have a few links to a site that is just for the busy working men and women of this world who just don't have the time to workout, or even eat healthy.

Please take this into consideration do you really like who you are? Do you really like who you have become? If you're happy that's really all that matters. However since you are reading this I am assuming something is missing from your life.

No one is perfect, however we can do our best to try and be perfect, as we want to be. This is what all of us should be doing as humans, but we don't. Deep down inside you know you can lose the weight if you actually put in some effort, and listened to advanced tips on how to do so.

Losing weight really isn't that hard. I am going to give you a few tips on how to do come about doing this.

- Instead of eating 3 large meals a day, eat 6-8 smaller meals. When you do this, your bodies' metabolism works at its peak throughout the entire day, causing yourself to burn more calories.

- Cut your calorie intake to 25% and just look at the difference of your body in the next month. Take what you are eating now, add up all the calories, and limit them to 75%. Remember in the end, it's all about the calories!

- Do more active things, walking, and running, playing tennis. Instead of watching TV,

Why not go outside... It's nice out? Take on a sport or something.

- Create hope. Hope is the one an only thing that we control. We can control ourselves if we really, really want to.

Good Luck! And Happy Summer!

Weight Loss Resolution

Having a weight loss resolution is sometimes harder than resolving to earn more money. But if that's really what you want or need to do then here are a couple of suggestions to get you started.

Be clear about your situation.

Know your weight and body mass index. Know exactly how many pounds you need to lose. Visit your doctor to see if there are any other health conditions you have and should be aware of. You may already be in danger of having diabetes or hypertension and must therefore further reduce intake of foods rich in sugar, oils, and fats. Respiratory problems may also make strenuous exercises unacceptable for your health. It's better to know all these things before you start working on keeping your weight loss resolution.

Design a diet plan.

Diligent research can easily help you formulate the ideal diet plan for your health and needs. But if you don't think you're up to the task, consult a doctor, fitness expert, or nutritionist to help you come up with the right diet regime. When making a diet plan on your own, remember to take into consideration your level of self-control as well as the amount of money and time needed to stick to the diet plan.

Design an exercise plan.

The ideal exercise plan combines routines to develop your strength, stamina, and flexibility. Of course, you're welcome to increase more repetitions or types for any of the three if that's what you feel you should concentrate more on. Exercise always accompanies diet and vice versa. Diet may help you lose weight but it won't help in making your body adjust properly to the changes it undergoes. Exercise can, however, ensure that you won't end up having loose flabby skin when the pounds fall off your body.

Get a pedometer.

Studies show that people with generally inactive lifestyles only walk about two or three thousand steps a day. Adding 2,000 steps to that figure will only help you maintain your weight. Only if you go beyond that will walking help you lose weight. A pedometer can let you know how you're doing everyday. This is especially helpful if you're always on the go and have no time for stationary exercises. When shopping for a pedometer, remember to test it out first. If you take a hundred steps, an accurate pedometer could give you a reading ranging between eighty-five to a hundred five steps. If your pedometer shows otherwise, try changing its position before retesting it.

Find other ways to exercise.

If you find yourself getting bored with your solitary forms of exercise, consider other alternatives like picking up a new sport or any physical hobby. Call up your friends and have them join you for a weekly running session. Explore your spirit of adventure. Rock climbing is, for instance, exciting and challenging but it's a good way to exercise your heart and body as well.

Eat more small meals than fewer big meals.

Restricting yourself to breakfast, lunch, and dinner makes it easier for you to rationalize eating more than you should. Rather than make yourself open to temptation, just eat more but smaller meals each day.

Nibble only as a last resort.

Resist the urge to nibble! It's easy to tell ourselves that no harm can come from nibbling but the next thing you know is that one nibble has become the equivalent of a hundred nibbles for the whole day! If there's no actual and urgent need for you to nibble, don't!

Have an emergency healthy snack ready.

There will be times that you'll get stuck in a place where there's no food considered acceptable by your diet regime. As such, the next logical choice is to eat what's available rather than starve to death, right? That's true...but only if you haven't an emergency healthy snack tucked away. Always be prepared! You might have no way of predicting when such emergencies will occur but you're at least prepared to meet them head on.

Drink lots of water.

Water will not only detoxify your body, but it can also keep you feel full far longer than usual. Drink water as well instead of sodas or any other beverage. Water won't make you gain weight but the same can't be said for other drinks.

Anti-Aging Exercise - How to Increase Growth Hormone

Growth hormone is the biggest anti-aging hormone. You can increase growth hormone with the right strength training program. Surprisingly, cardio exercise doesn't do much for growth hormone levels. And by boosting your growth hormone, you can burn fat and lose fat.

Every day, I receive spam emails from marketers trying to sell me "human Growth Hormone" boosters to help prevent aging. But did you know there's a natural way to increase your levels of Growth Hormone?

It's called strength training.

In a new study from the European Journal of Applied Physiology, human performance researchers from the University of North Carolina compared the Growth Hormone response of aerobic exercise and strength training.

When compared to a 30-minute aerobic training session, a strength training workout resulted in significantly more Growth Hormone release.

So if you are looking for a way to fight aging naturally, and boost fat burning while you are at it, don't neglect strength training as part of your exercise program.

The best exercises to use are multi-muscle exercises such as squats. You can do these with your bodyweight only, or if you have a dumbell set at home, you can do these while holding dumbells in each hand.

Do 3 sets of 8 repetitions two to three times per week. Add a pushing exercise, such as pushups or dumbell chest presses, and you have a fast, total body workout that builds muscle, burns fat, and boosts growth hormone.

Follow that up with interval training and you have the best recipe for boosting growth hormone, fat burning, and anti-aging exercise.

Weight Loss Truths - Calorie Restriction is the Key to Weight Loss Success

All successful weight loss programs rely on one common denominator; calorie restriction.

What is calorie restriction? Calorie restriction is an effort to reduce the amount of calories one consumes in order for the body to achieve a negative energy balance. This is simply a person reducing food consumption to the point that they are burning more energy than they are consuming. The body is then forced to use stored fuel (muscle tissue, glycogen and body fat) in order to survive. The burning of these stored fuels is cause of the weight loss phenomenon.

How does a person achieve this negative energy balance through calorie restriction? First a person must have an idea on what a calorie is. A calorie is a measure of heat. Food is the fuel our body needs to generate heat. If the body is not getting enough fuel from food consumption then the fuel must be found elsewhere. That fuel is found in our body fat.

The best analogy for this process is gasoline and an automobile. Cars run on gasoline. Without gasoline, a car is useless. We drive our car and fill up with gasoline when we are getting low on fuel.

What would happen if we put 18 gallons on gas in our car if we only burned 16 gallons? We would have extra gas left over. That extra gas has to go somewhere so it goes into storage for when we only have 14 gallons available but we need 16 gallons.

What would happen if we never tapped into our gas reserves? The surplus would keep growing and growing causing a need for larger storage tanks.

The human body works in the exact same way. The surplus fuel (food) is turned into stored energy (body fat) and the only way to reduce how much fuel is stored in reserve is to limit new consumption of fuel (food). This is the only way that the human body can body fat. A caloric deficit must be established so stored energy (body fat) can be burned to keep us alive.

How is a calorie deficit achieved? The simplest answer is to eat a fewer number of calories then it takes to fuel your basal metabolic rate. The BMR (basal metabolic rate) is the measure of energy a person needs to subsist. People can figure out their BMR by using any of the numerous BMR calculators that can be found online.

Once the BMR is calculated a person can then have a goal to shot for. If the BMR is 2500 calories a day, they a person should shoot to try to eat fewer the 2500 calories a day for a consistent period of time.

How can a person effectively create a caloric deficit? Part 2 of this article will address this issue.

Weight Loss: Add Chocolate to Your Diet?

Before you run out and stock up on chocolate bars, read the whole article please. Yes! Yes! Yes! There really ARE health benefits of chocolate, and it CAN be a part of a weight loss program. There are a few things to know first.

First we talk about the boring stuff...free radicals, antioxidants, and flavonoids:

Free radicals: These little rascals, I mean radicals, are unstable atoms or groups of atoms that occur in the body as a result of everyday atomic processes in reaction to such intrusive things as pollution, cigarette smoke, and sunlight. They are a natural part of the process of being alive, but they can damage cells, and research seems to implicate them, at least to some extent, in the growth of cancer, cardiovascular disease, strokes, cataracts, and other problems related to age.

Antioxidants: The free radicals are unstable because they have lost an electron, and they begin to steal electrons from other atoms and molecules within the body. This creates more free radicals and more damage, even to the DNA itself. Antioxidants have an extra electron to spare and lend it to the free radicals, thereby stopping their destructive rampage. The antioxidants will also turn the free radical into a waste product, allowing it to be flushed (no pun intended) from the body. There are many antioxidants, but some of the more common sources are vitamins C & E. They are also available in many fruits and vegetables.

Flavonoids: Android, asteroid? No relation. Flavonoids are pretty common throughout nature, and they are anti- a lot of bad health things. As you may have guessed, they are also antioxidants. They are found in all kinds of stuff, such as red wine, tea, and beer...AND...Chocolate! Oh yeah! You can also eat the fruits and veggies mentioned above and get them, but chocolate's more fun, right?

NOW THE BAD NEWS ABOUT CHOCOLATE

Not all chocolate is created equal...at least in the finished product. The more processing that is involved generally removes more of the flavonoids. Therefore, dark chocolate probably contains the most flavonoids and provides the most antioxidant qualities.

Unfortunately, chocolate by itself doesn't taste too good, so to make it palatable, fats and sugars are added. Those are the really bad things about chocolate, particularly if you are on a diet or in some other type of weight loss program

CHOCOLATE AND WEIGHT LOSS

As you can imagine, there is not a lot you can do about the ingredients added to chocolate. These ingredients are, for the most part, exactly the sort of things you need to avoid in your diet or on your weight loss program. However, regularly adding reasonable amounts of chocolate products to your diet can help you attain your weight loss goals in indirect ways.

Occasional chocolate treats are not of any great importance if you are doing everything else right. One candy bar or chocolate chip cookie is not going to destroy a week's worth of adherence to your weight loss program. In fact, knowing that you can allow yourself a treat or reward for "being good" can help you get over some of the tough parts. This is particularly true if you have the sort of self control to keep portion sizes reasonable and spaced at sensible intervals.

You can also be proactive and head off the "carb cravings" that sometimes push you over the edge by drinking some low-carb chocolate milk for example. You won't get as much of the benefits from the flavonoids, but satisfying yourself in advance with the taste and texture of the drink, or other snack, may help you retain control.

One of the major reasons diets and other weight loss programs fail is because people feel deprived. It is better to commit the occasional small dietary sin than to give up completely. Integrating chocolate and other foods you enjoy in controlled-portion servings can help you make your weight loss plan a success.

How To Lose 40 Pounds in a Month

Just a few days ago someone asked me if it's possible to lose 40 pounds in a month, and if so how she could do it. I decided to take the answer I gave her and to make an article of it. So here it is.

But before I write about how this can be done, let me say that I suggest you give yourself more time to lose 40 lbs. A month will require some drastic measures. But if you're adamant about it, read on. You need to be aware that in order to lose 40 pounds in 30 days, you need to create a massive calorie deficit. This isn't something which is easily done. It's possible to do this in just 2 ways:

1. Use a detox diet - A detox diet cleanses your body of a great deal of undigested pounds and helps you to create a calorie deficit. A detox diet includes drinking a lot of fluids, usually water and fruit juice (fresh juice). This kind of diet flushes you out and helps to stave off hunger. In this way it's possible to lose 40 pounds fast. In a month, it can be done. However, you need to be aware that this may not be the healthiest thing to do. Using a detox diet for too long can be detrimental to the body since you're not eating a lot of necessary nutrients. It's great for fast weight loss, but don't use it for too long.

2. The second way to lose 40 lbs in a month is to create the necessary calorie deficit by working out a lot and eating in moderation. You will need to do a lot of cardio (at least 4 hours each week) and also do strength workouts, but cardio is key. You will not be building muscle tissue in this month, you will only be losing weight. If you do enough cardiovascular workouts, and eat in moderation (a lot of vegetables and fruit and short on carbs), you may be able to lose 40 pounds in 1 month. But you need to be aware that this will require a massive effort on your part.

As I said, it's possible to lose 40 pounds in a month with the right kind of determination and willpower, but I suggest you give yourself a bit more time. It'll make it easier.

1 Cardio Trick To Lose Belly Fat - Maximize Your Belly Fat Burn Rate

One of the best ways to lose belly fat is through cardio workouts. Cardio can burn a lot of fat in a relatively short period of time, as long as it's done in the right way to maximize your fat burn rate. The sad thing is, that most people do cardio in a way which doesn't help them to burn the maximum amount of fat and also consumes way too much of their time.

So what is the wrong way to do cardio? Or better yet, what is the 1 cardio trick to lose belly fat fast?

The wrong way to do cardio, which is the more common form you see in gyms, is the long duration, low-medium intensity cardio workouts. You probably know what I mean: people who get up on the treadmill and simply use to it to stroll for an hour, barely picking up their feet. Others may run at a slow pace which may be great for a warm up, but it's not the best way to lose belly fat, not by a long shot.

Not that I blame those people, they've simply been filled with misinformation. They've been led to believe that they need to do long workouts in order to burn any fat at all. Of course you need to do things for a long time if you're doing it at a slow pace like a turtle. Your body barely feels any exertion.

The 1 trick to lose belly fat with cardio involves doing short duration, high intensity, interval cardio workouts. By doing such workouts you get the body to really feel the burden, work your heart through a whole range of beat rates, burn a ton of fat, and do it in less time. The downside is that you need to work hard. If you don't push yourself, you will not be able to burn enough belly fat to make it worthwhile, but if you are prepared to make the effort, you can have a massive cardio workout in 20--25 minutes flat.

So the trick to doing cardio to lose belly fat is to do it a high intensity level which means that you will only be able to keep it up for a short while, and then to lower your intensity level for a while to catch your breath, and push yourself into higher intensity again. If you do this cycle for the entire 20 minutes of workout, believe me, you'll be huffing and puffing, and sweating profusely. What's even better, is that your body will be burning calories a higher rate for a long time afterwards because you've really pushed it to the wall.

Try doing this kind of cardio. If you do just this 1 trick to lose belly fat, you will see and feel the results.

How to Become a Great Personal Trainer

It's a great question, and an important question. With the loss of traditional jobs and a move to service-industry economy in North America, personal training is a way to earn a relatively good living while helping others.

In my opinion, there is a huge shortage of good trainers in the workforce.

Now it's relatively easy to become a certified personal trainer. Simply look up one of the popular certifications (ACE, NSCA-CPT, or whatever certification the gym you want to work at requires), get their study materials, and then pass their test. Then you certified and can be a trainer. That's it. (So it's easy to see why there are so many bad trainers out there. Remember that the more people the organizations certify, the more $$$ they make...)

However, to become a good trainer, you will need to learn much, much more and invest far more time and education than you need to just get a quick certification.

You will need to start by mastering the basics such as anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and an introduction to sports medicine.

For without this foundation, it is easy for a trainer to fall for the latest gimmicks and fads. If you don't know how the central nervous system controls the muscles, then standing on a wobbling board while doing biceps curls with a rubber band while reciting your ABC's backwards might seem like a good idea. But if you have a strong education in the foundations, then you'll take one look at that stuff and realize its bunk.

Fortunately, you can learn as much studying on your own as you could by being enrolled in a University Kinesiology program.

The plus side of going to University is that you will get a recognized degree and it also happens that a University or College degree (any subject however) is a pre-requisite for possibly the most recognized certification, that of the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).

However, the obvious downsides of University are the required investments in time and money. You must study on the University schedule and the fees are substantial.

One additional downside to a University education is the heavy emphasis placed on aerobic exercise science. Not only has this lead to the "You must do aerobics for fat loss" mentality, but also to the ill-advised "high-carbohydrate, low-fat diets are best for fat loss and health" nutrition recommendations.

While some coaches regard the formal education process as un-necessary, and feel that all the requisite knowledge can be gained on their own and in the trenches, I am a strong supporter of a formal education - provided the quality of education is high. Perhaps these coaches attended less than stellar Kinesiology programs (which I know do exist).

However, the education that I attained from McMaster University is without a doubt the reason for the quality of my programs and the level of my knowledge. Most influential was the neuromuscular physiology course taught to me by Dr. Digby Sale at McMaster University. But since you will never have the opportunity to attend his classes, I recommend in his place you read:

Supertraining - by Mel Siff

and

The Science and Practice of Strength Training - Dr. Vladimir Zatsiorsky

Either way, as Michael Masterson of EarlytoRise says, expect to spend 1000 hours of study to become competent (as he suggests is the case with any discipline). Of course, having a good mentor can significantly decrease the amount of time you will need to study (perhaps by 50%).

So those are a couple of roads on how you become a competent personal trainer. But they aren't the only ones. I've even met former University-educated engineeers that are great trainers, as they seem to bring a unique perspective to training.

And I haven't even touched on the business side of things...

Weight Loss Principles To Lose Weight - Fat Storage and Fat Burning!

It is common knowledge that a moderate and sustainable eating and exercise pattern has to be established to remain healthy and achieve the desired weight loss.

Our primary fat storage mechanism is Lipoprotein Lipase.) The foods consumed in the form of carbohydrates, starches and sugars stimulate LPL and allow fat storage.

It is possible to adjust this mechanism, by adhering to a few weight loss principles.

Turn off the body's fat storage mechanism - This can be done by food coupling, which means avoiding foods that are dangerous when taken in combination with each other. Fat and carbohydrate couplings, such as found in fried foods, cookies, cakes, candy bars etc., lack bulk and they make it easy to consume hundreds of calories without feeling full.

When fat is eaten at the same time as carbohydrates, both the fat and carbohydrates are pushed into storage. The result is, increased blood fat levels and increase in stored fat. Not only that, the body's basic blood sugar control mechanism gets damaged and slows down the metabolism and causes weight gain.

Turn on the body's fat burning mechanism - Some foods burn "hotter" than others; that is, they cause the body to expend more calories for heat, encourage activity and are not as readily stored. Proteins and complex carbohydrates are "hot" burners, such as whole grains, whole-grain products and nearly all vegetables. They are not stored as fat easily and they tell the body that it has enough fuel, so it is alright to expend energy. This heat producing effect after a meal turns on the metabolism.

Exceptionally good and energizing meals are those that couple lean proteins such as fish, skinless chicken, lamb, lean beef and tofu with various non-starchy vegetables.

Juice Fasting For Weight Loss

Juice fasting is normally adopted to give your body a rest and to allow accumulated waste to be removed. During a typical juice fast, except for water, nothing else is consumed other than the juices. Hence, in the process, there can also be a very noticeable loss of fat as well. In fact, juice fasting for weight loss on a regular basis especially if you are on the overweight end, can help bring your body to a more healthy weight.

It seems natural that a detoxification diet will also relieve you of unwanted body fat because many toxins are found in the fat cells. By eliminating the fat, the toxins are released into the body so that they can be eliminated through the typical procedures, such as urination or through the lungs. This is why juice fasting gives you energy and provides better overall health.

By unlocking the pure nutrients from fruits and vegetables, a juice extractor gives you the opportunity to obtain pure energy from the juice, leaving your body to release toxins from various sources. Juice fasting is preferred over water fasting, as it allows you to carry out a fast for a longer period of time, while still having the energy to function. Depending on the amount of weight to be lost, the level of activity, and individual metabolism rate, a person can lose over one pound a day on this fasting regime. For a quicker weight loss, you may want to dilute fresh juices with some water.

Although juice fasting is one of the most healthy way to shed unwanted pounds that encumber you and harbor toxic substances, you should take note that of those cases for which juice fasting is best to be refrained. Pregnant and nursing mothers, diabetics or those with blood sugar issues, people with liver or kidney disease, or other chronic conditions should discuss any dietary changes with their doctor before starting.

There are several side effects that can occur during juice fasting. These include headaches, fatigue, hypoglycemia, constipation, acne, body odor, and bad breath. If you experience dizziness, unexpected weight loss, vomiting, blood pressure problems diarrhea, or worsening symptoms for long term issues, then stop juice fasting immediately and consult your health care provider. Most people do well with the fast, but some conditions may be aggravated by it.

A week before starting your fast, it is important that you eliminate alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, sugar, dairy, and meat from your diet to prepare your body for the cleansing. These changes will help you minimize any side effects that may be experienced.

During juice fasting, consume between 32 and 64 ounces of juice a day. Juice can be made out of celery, carrots, kale, spinach, cabbage, apple, pineapple, cranberry, beets, and greens. Fruits added to vegetable juices can help to sweeten the combination, making the drink more palatable. Citrus juices can be difficult to process during a fast. Drink the juice and warm water. After the diet, ease yourself back into a solid diet gradually so as not to shock your system.

Juice fasting for weight loss is gaining much popularity as a great way for a healthy person to eliminate unhealthy and unwanted pounds. Many celebrities have also admitted to using juice fasting to help keep them in shape. Using some common sense and easing your body in and out of the fast, can help you achieve weight loss in a safe and effective manner. If you are carrying out juice fasting for the first time, do run by your health care provider. You also need to ensure that you set aside time to rest during the period of the juice fast.

7 Secrets to a Wildly Successful Weight Loss and Fitness Program

All too often, each of us grasps for quick fixes, fast results and "little effort" schemes to lose weight and get back in shape (or get in shape for the first time). Without exception, most fail miserably and continue the same patterns of behavior that put them there in the first place. What usually follows is the "blame game" citing time, obligations, work, soreness, food taste and the wrong phase of the moon for the lapse in self achievement.

Each of us has exactly 24 hours in a day. No one has more and no one has less. How we choose to use this time is the difference between achieving what we desire and staying in the same rut we started in. Go find a mirror. Take this article with you. When you are in front of the mirror, that person is the one responsible for your life. Your fitness level, weight, self image and role model for others start with you!

Fortunately, the mind is very adaptive to change and reprogramming. A habit can be broken for a lifetime in as little as 21 days.

History tells us human nature has battled with motivation and self achievement since our creation. Let us ponder what our 26th president, Mr. Theodore Roosevelt, spoke of taking responsibility for ourselves.

"Get action. Seize the moment. Man was never intended to become an oyster." An oyster is closed off from the world. Wishing, dreaming and talking about what you should do or could do never gets anything done.

"Never throughout history has a man who lived a life of ease left a name worth remembering." Think about this statement. How many leaders, athletes, celebrities, achievers got where they are now by easing through life? No one said weight loss, fitness or muscle building was easy. Do not be afraid of work. It will not kill you but not working could.

"In a moment of decision the best thing you can do is the right thing. The worst thing you can do is nothing." This does not mean if we do not know the exact right thing to do we should study options for years. No action leads to few results. Start doing something now. Take a walk at lunch. Walk the dog an extra mile tonight.

"People ask the difference between a leader and a boss. The leader leads, and the boss drives." Leaders are visionaries. Leaders have a goal in place, steps to achieve that goal and leaders will not stop until the goal is accomplished. Others wait for the leaders to tell them who, what, where, when and why. Be a leader for your body.

"Old age is like everything else. To make a success of it, you've got to start young." Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Exercise programs and weight loss control can start when you are 70 as well as 25 years young. Be a role model for your family and friends. Imagine the impact on future generations because of your action today.

If you are not willing to take control of your fitness level and weight control, who is? We were not born with a "right" to a slim and beautiful body created by anyone else but you. This goes back to self achievement and motivation. Grab a friend and help each other pull their own weight off!

"If you could kick the person in the pants responsible for most of your trouble, you would not be able to sit for a month." I saved the best one for last. I know you will print out this article and tack it to your cubicle at work, fold it into the sun visor of your car and slip it under the magnet on the kitchen refrigerator (near the handle)! History continues to repeat itself.
